So often the word hero is used to describe someone who dies in the line of duty, usually in knowing the risk goes with their job. and deservedly so. However when someone like Lt.Col. Beltrame willingly leaves a place of relative safety to put himself in the place of a civilian at risk of death, I fail to find words to describe such an act.
